Art Direction

You may have the best design in the world, but how it is carried through to actual realisation is what will make or break the integrity of an exhibit. This concerns not only the ‘big picture’ but especially attention to the myriad details that ‘suspend disbelief’ and make a recreated environment realistic, convincing and engaging. Whether it is artificial rockwork, replica trees and plants, animal and botanical models, period architectural structure, historical artifacts, prehistoric creatures, or weathering and ageing... accuracy, authenticity and naturalism are vital.

I offer an art direction service to ensure that the intent, integrity and quality of the final design specification is maintained throughout the construction phase. This may include assisting with scenic artist and contractor selection, advice on material and technique use, sourcing and supplying of photographic and documentary reference material and most importantly - on-site supervision and creative direction.
